the michigan accent pronunciation guide

the michigan accent pronunciation guide

this website cracks me up. Kathryn (my evil twin) (not actually related to me) showed it to me a few days ago. And I read it and was amused. And now I am posting it on my blog as the first semi-profound thing to post, for the amusement of my future readers. Michigan accents. We have them. Who knew? When I move far far away, I hope people don't make fun of me too much because of my silly Michigan accent.

drat. because i don't have a "blogger" blog, I have to post "anonymously". hah. bet you can guess who this is, though, by my style and mad verbal skills. ;) And because I will put my name at the end of it.

Anyhoo, I would try to improve/remove your michigan accent before you go anywhere if you don't want anyone to make fun of it. I know we, as Ontarioans, DEFINATELY made fun of the way Americans (and Michiganders) spoke with their accent and all. And, "Where's the party at?". Why there must be an "at", I don't know. But in any case, it's catching. I now speak Amerinadian, thankyouverymuch. [mmmm... marinade...]

just a note, I do NOT do the ending questions with a meaningless preposition thing. I don't ask where things are at. Unless I'm trying to be funny.
(was that a preposition you just ended your sentance with?)

Your "sentance"? Is that like "sentence"? :)

Ha ha ha you guys are all funny! I have always wondered what type of accent I have until I came across that guide and found that we say practically all the words and a few phrases listed there the way a traditional michigan person would.

And no one in my family is even from Michigan! (How does that work?!)
